Principal's Message

Dear Pioneer Students and Families,

Welcome to the Pioneer Elementary School 2018-2019 school year.  Pioneer Elementary School is a welcoming inclusive setting where we pride ourselves on strong, positive relationships between students, staff, and families.  In collaboration with our PTA, we promote a variety of programs and events that create opportunities for students and families to engage in our school community.  For detailed information about upcoming events and opportunities to get involved, please visit our PTA website at: www.pioneerelementarypta.com/

The key to your child’s success is the establishment of a strong home-school relationship.  Collaboration between parents and staff helps our students to understand school policies and procedures, and benefit from the opportunities for learning and growth offered at Pioneer School.  Our staff strives to create a caring, inclusive environment where all students feel connected and engaged.  Highlights of these efforts are: "Luncha-palooza" - our lunch-time activity program coordinated by our PE teacher, monthly "Life-Skills" assemblies that promote positive character traits, weekly positive recognitions for students demonstrating "Pioneer Pride", as well as focused Reading and Math support programs.

To help create a more positive communicative connection we are moving toward a new website platform that will ensure parents, guardians, and families are up to date on all of the upcoming information and events at Pioneer.  Keep an eye out for our new up to date website.  In addition to the website, we are in the process of creating a Pioneer Facebook page.  Look for the official publication on August 13th at https://www.facebook.com/djusdpioneer/

We look forward to working with you and your children!
