Thank you Ms. Cooley and our orchestra students for playing at our flag ceremony last Friday.  You chose a great piece and did an awesome job performing. Thank you also to the 4th grade girls from Ms. Pepper’s class who read poems and reflections.

Mackenzie Turney (4th Grade, Mrs. West) is the GRAND PRIZE Winner of the '17 Yolo County Water Awareness Student Art Contest. There were hundreds of entries from Elementary Schools in Davis, Woodland and Winters. A total of 16 finalists were selected from grades Kindergarten thru 6th grade with Mackenzie winning the Grand Prize. Students participated to express their ideas about this year's theme "Be Like a Pro, Conserve H2O". Her artwork was on display at the Yolo County Board of Supervisors meeting on May 23 where she received a ribbon, certificate, a cash prize of $100 and $125 cash prize for her classroom at Pioneer. Her artwork will be posted on Yolo County Flood Control & Water Conservation District and Yolo County Flood Control and Water Conservation District websites and will be featured in the Yolo County Water Awareness Calendar. 



Junior High Sports:  Are you a 6th grade athlete planning to play sports next year at Harper Junior High?  All athletes are required to complete the online sign-up form and submit the athletic packet with a current physical exam form to the athletic department prior to the first day of practice.  Don’t get left out when the school year starts.  Schedule your doctor appointment early and visit for the online sign-up form, the athletic packet with the physical exam form, and more.  For questions, contact Athletic Director Michael Tobey at


Sports Physical Clinic will be held on Saturday, June 3 from 8:30 – 11:30 am, Sutter Family Medicine, 2030 Sutter Pl., Suite 200, Davis.  Athletes in grades 7-12 are encouraged to complete their sports physicals this spring for the 2017-2018 school year.  A $20 donation for participation in the clinic will be donated to benefit DHS Athletics.  Bring your Sports Physical Exam form filled out and signed by a parent to participate in the clinic.  Physical forms are available in the DHS Front Office or on the Athletics page of the DHS website, forms folder:
