WAY TO GO PIONEER STUDENTS:

The Water Resources Association of Yolo County and the Yolo County Flood Control & Water Conservation District held the 2017 Water Awareness Student Art Contest to raise awareness of wise water use and conservation.  The contest emphasizes that water conservation should be a way of life, which will help California endure the next inevitable drought.

We are proud to announce there were several winners from Pioneer this year.  In Mrs. West’s 4th Grade classroom there were 3 winners:  Mackenzie Turney won the Grand Prize, Isabella Passerini won 1st place for the 3rd-4th grade category, and Leo He won 3rd place for the 3rd-4th grade category.  Cameron Salyers from Mrs. Viguie & Stanowicz 6th grade classroom won an honorable mention for the 5th-6th grade category.

All winners will be recognized on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 9:00 am by the Yolo County Board of Supervisors, have their artwork displayed in several locations around Yolo County, and have it made into a 2018 Calendar.  The Grand Prize winner’s classroom will receive a $125 cash prize.
